Covid-19
It’s official. The official codename for the coronavirus, according to the World Health Organisation, is Covid-19. Co-for corona, vi- for virus, d-for disease, 19-for the year it was detected.
Tight security
Security at Parliament House is now much tighter. Media people felt the full brunt of the new security measures as their IDs are checked several times starting at the main gate right up to the entrance into the main building. When is Media Freedom Day?
Press gallery
As part of the security measures, the press gallery in Parliament is checked to ensure only reporters assigned to cover parliamentary proceedings are there. The security guards have a list of those who should be there.
In a quandary
Shoppers at a major supermarket in Port Moresby last weekend were caught in a quandary when only small plastic bags were provided. Those with lots of items were advised by the cashier to bring their vehicles closer to the door so that it is easier to transfer all the small bags there.
Travel in style
Some love to travel by train, bus, car, bicycle or on horseback. This man (from Fiji) chose a bullock. Well, as long as one reaches one’s destination, it really does not matter what mode of transport one selects, does it?
