High fee
A customer used his Visa card to withdraw K20 from an ATM belonging to another commercial bank. When he checked his bank statement, he found that he had been charged a K15 fee to withdraw that K20 from the ATM. A case of daylight robbery he thinks.
Toilet paper war
Police in New South Wales, Australia, are urging people to not give in to violence amid the global coronavirus outbreak. Three women got into a fight over toilet paper, complete with screaming and hair-pulling, in the Woolworths Supermarket on Saturday.
Plastic bags
A cashier at one of the major supermarkets used two big plastic bags to fill three small items of shopping. Her explanation is that the deadline for the ban is approaching fast.
Old flags
Many important visitors including VIPs from abroad go to the Sir Manasupe building in Port Moresby where the prime minister’s office is. Some of the flags outside are well past their use-by dates. They need to be replaced pronto.
Rugby grab
England prop England prop Joe Marler (left) was caught on camera grabbing Lions and Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones’ genitals during on-field melee in the Six Nations clash last weekend. Marler is facing a four-year ban by the International Rugby Board for the indecent conduct. His reaction to the ban: “Bollocks!”.
