WE say organiser of the current Oceania Football Confederation Nations Cup in Port Moresby didn’t do enough with marketing this tournament. We believe the Sunday crowd for the PNG/Samoa game could have been more. Other than that, congratulations to PNG who will take on Solomon Islands in the semi-finals tomorrow (Wednesday).

A DAUNTING task for PNG, having watched how Solomon Islands played. PNG will have to shut them down in the mid-fields and not give them room to move the ball to our goalmouth.

NOW the other challenge will be to get the crowd to the stadium to support and then taking them safely home. We see a lot wanting to be there but their concern is going home after 7pm and the public buses would have stopped their service. Time for City Hall to step in and assist.

AND this is from Turia Pit who walked the Kokoda Track last month as part of her role as an ambassador for charity Interplast. In 2011 she was caught in a grass fire and suffered burns to 65 per cent of her body. This is what she posted on her facebook page:  What an epic journey in the most stunning country I have ever visited. Eight days of gruelling trekking made easy by the knowledge that our team raised in excess of 400k for @interplastanz… Boom!

TRAVEL News Asia reported that Papua New Guinea visitor arrivals grew by 12.4 per cent from 169 to 240 and this could be attributed to the international events that the country has been hosting. Definitely more increase by November for the FIFA U-20 World Cup

WE read that Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart could be forced into a reshuffle, which may pave the way for Kato Ottio to make his debut. Ottio’s team mates for the NSW Cup Mounties believe he could make the step up, adding he is a powerful player and has been doing a lot of great things for Mounties. We hope for that lucky star this weekend for young Ottio.

OBSERVED throughout the animal kingdom, courtship is the practice of wooing a member of the opposite sex with the ultimate goal of mating. Animal courtship may involve complicated dances or touching; vocalization; or displays of beauty or fighting prowess. Humans, meanwhile, have evolved elaborate courtship rituals involving flowers, gifts, songs, poetry, restaurants, and various displays of affection.

QUOTE of the day: Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even. – Muhammad Ali
