Spare a thought
Spare a thought for those who have nothing to turn back on when their small informal markets are forced to close. No social welfare net, no superfund, no other source of income. And schools are about to start.
Public transport
Hopefully the restrictions on public service vehicles will be lifted this week to enable people to move about – but on the condition that they strictly observe Covid-19 rules and protocols. People who are too poor to buy cars need to go to the bank, market and shops.
Husband’s diary
Day 12 (of stay-at-home): Without sports. Found a lady sitting on my couch at home yesterday. Apparently she is my wife. She seems nice.
Turned black
Two Chinese doctors critically ill with COVID-19 saw their skin turned dark after being brought back from the brink of death. Dr Yi Fan and Dr Hu Weifeng, both 42, caught the virus while treating patients at the Wuhan Central Hospital in January. The abnormal skin colour is caused by hormonal imbalances after their livers were damaged by the virus, their doctor said.
