Sepik moves
Children exhibiting their special Sepik moves on the “dance floor” after their new school building was opened last Thursday at Numindogum in the Numbo Local Level Government of Yangoru-Saussia district in East Sepik. Time to have fun.
Possible breach
State of Emergency rules require that passengers arriving from overseas have to go directly into quarantine from the airport. But one passenger arriving last Saturday was taken directly to the police station instead.
Heavy rain
The heavy rain in the capital city on Saturday caused flooding in parts of the city because of poor drainage. The downpour was a blessing too as it cleaned out all the big open drains clogged with empty soft drink plastic bottles and garbage.
Confusing move
A reader questions: Who will the schools in the capital city answer to and be funded by now – the Education Department or City Hall? Has not City Hall got enough problems of its own instead of taking on a primary responsibility of the State?
Stolen uniforms
It’s bad enough to be robbed at gunpoint. It’s even worse when the thugs robbing you are wearing (stolen) police uniforms.
Helping who
Be careful who you help these days, even your best mates. Times are hard folks.
Thought for today
On a plane, whether you travel first class or economy, you will die if it crashes. In life, whether you are rich or poor, you will die one day. Equality in death – the great leveller.
Top quote
Never confuse education with intelligence. You can have an university degree but still be an idiot.
