Exciting footy
More exciting matches of footy to watch this week – especially that Saturday clash between the Storms and Knights. Should be thriller.
Better than nothing
Not only league, but rugby union fans are in for a treat this weekend although all the action will be confined to the land of the long white cloud. Still, better than nothing.
Prolonged pain
The 50,000-plus people laid off by their employees in March because of the Covid-19 pandemic are still waiting for their elected leaders to say that they can withdraw their retirement savings to support their families. 12 weeks and counting. How much longer honourable members?
Plans torn up
Many are tired of waiting and have torn up their travel plans. The earliest for the NZ-Australia-Pacific bubble to happen is September.
No flag
Oh, before we forget, someone at the Gordon Police Station has forgotten to replace the PNG flag on the front yard. It has been about a month now since they removed the old tattered one that used to be there.
Taxi trip
Some taxi drivers in Port Moresby often rattle off without any invitation on the subject bottling up inside them as soon as the passenger closes the door at the start of the journey. The drivers even forget to turn on the fare meter.
Thought for today
Sometimes you eat your words, chew your ego, swallow your pride, and admit that you are wrong. It’s not giving up. It’s called growing up.
Top quote
Your mind is a garden. Your thoughts are the seeds. It’s your choice whether to grow flowers or weeds.
