No pay
Health workers in church-run facilities are still waiting to be paid for the months of April, May, June, and the first fortnight of July. It’s excruciating.
Just to prove it
Broncos fans want to see a win over the West Tigers this weekend just to prove that last week’s first victory after six losses was not a fluke. Fingers crossed.
No flights
Qantas international flights have been pushed back to July next year, according to chief executive officer Alan Joyce. So we will be just have to be stuck at home for some time.
Not worth it
A magistrate warned a man who stole a tin of canned meat worth K8.50 from a supermarket in Port Moresby that he could be fined K4,000. The man will certainly think twice next time he wants to do such a silly act.
Pet loss
The loss of a house pet can be devastating for family members, in some cases it’s just like the demise of a family member.
Right hands
Kudos to the police in Lae for getting their hands first on these K5 and K2 notes totaling almost K200,000 before they fell into the wrong hands. Great police intelligence.
Mask fine
From July 24, shoppers in the UK will be fined 100 pounds (K400) if they do not wear a mask. Tough to enforce though.
Thought for today
Young branches are easy to bend. They get harder, and they can even snap, when the branches are older. Same with people. It is easier to mould characters at a young age. It’s too late when they are adults.
