Loan sharks
Hard to find loan sharks these days. Maybe the loans they gave out before the pandemic hit everyone, forcing clients out of jobs, have not been paid. Hard times for all.
Personalised masks
Personalised face masks, such as ones with the PNG flag on them, will be an instant big seller, don’t you think?
Confusing bill
The bill on the Independent Commission Against Corruption once passed may be duplicating the roles already undertaken by some law enforcement agencies. Does not make sense.
Seeking redress
It is becoming a habit now that people maligned or defamed on social media run to the newspapers to seek redress. We have the police and courts for that.
Setting an example
At least three MPs, and some prominent people, have declared their condemnation of domestic violence, saying publicly they never assault their wives. But some are remaining mum on the subject.
Marriage vows
Not a bad idea to follow what some couples are doing every couple of years – renewing their marriage vows in church.
Clear message
This message outside a shop cannot be any clearer: Wear a mask or be prepared to face the consequences.
Fluctuating temperature
Colleague was both confused and angry when he was not allowed to enter the company premises because his temperature, taken by the security guard at the gate, read 39, then a minute later 41, then a minute later back to 39. Either the thermometer was faulty, or he had a rapidly fluctuating (unstable) temperature.
Thought for today
Be thankful for what you have today. Remember the days when you have prayed for what you have today.
Good quote
“A nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.” – late former US President John F. Kennedy
