No enforcement
The 10pm curfew began on Tuesday in Port Moresby but there was no one around such as the police to enforce it. It ended at 5am yesterday. Interesting to see what will happen in the next 12 days.
No buses
And then there was none. Drivers in the capital city who on Tuesday defied the 14-day ban on buses finally saw the light yesterday and stayed at home. Maybe the warning of a K50,000 fine worked.
Making a killing
Taxis in the capital city are making a “killing” because commuters are solely relying on the service. With taxi meters turned off, the drivers can demand extra knowing passengers have no other alternative public transport.
Poor nurses
Nurses who raised their concern about the lack of protective gear in their workplaces this week have been threatened with disciplinary action by their bosses. Why?
Male victims
Men who are victims of domestic violence are, just like women, protected under the Family Protection Act 2013 and the Lukautim Pikinini Act 2015. Not too many however take their complaints to the police. There may be a reason.
Food for thought
The best revenge is to move one, get over it, and continue to succeed. Never give someone the satisfaction of watching you suffer.
