No pay
Taxi driver parked his vehicle on the roadside and ran after the passenger disappearing into a bush track in one of Port Moresby’s suburbs. The guy had not paid his fare. There was no taxi meter but the driver claimed it came to K70. Poor guy.
One less
Figures provided regularly by the National Covid-19 Control Center sometime do not add up. For example on Sunday, they counted 52 new cases – 38 in Western and 15 in Port Moresby. That’s 53. Someone needs a calculator.
Missing figures
And the National Covid-19 Control Center is omitting from its daily updates of cases the Covid-19 patients who had passed away. Don’t they count anymore?
No masks
Still people ignoring the order to wear masks, including on buses. On well, at least the supermarkets are very strict on the rules.
Pushing together
When we are told to push the vehicle, we push together, even on the truck. It’s called teamwork.
New to granny
Family members were having a hard time trying to cajole grandma onto the escalator at a shopping mall, assuring the poor lady who had just arrived from the village it was the safest, quickest and most convenient way to get to the next floor.
Cannot breathe
When you cannot breathe, it may be a symptom of the Covid-19 which means you should go for a test. I can’t breathe is also used as a slogan by the Black Lives Matter movement. It came out at around the same time as the outbreak.
Food for thought
Your terrible job is the dream of the jobless. Your home is the dream of the homeless. Your smile is the dream of the depressed. Your health is the dream of the sick. Don’t let difficult things make you forget your blessings.
