Lest we forget
We must not forget that after the 45th anniversary celebrations, we still have a lot of work to do, such as fixing our roads like this one in Kokopo.
Dulls the mood
They seem to be happening all at once this week – power cuts, water cuts, disruptions to internet services – at least in Port Moresby. Dulls the mood to celebrate, doesn’t it?
Late notice
At 3pm yesterday, an internet service provider texted: “Happy 45th Independence PNG. Enjoy free onnet calls all day today. Talk for as long as you like.” It should have been sent in the morning, don’t you think?
Ignored scourge
The onset of the Covid-19 and before that Tuberculosis and polio has dimmed the focus on another scourge – HIV/Aids. It is still very much a health threat. We ignore it at our peril.
Special bond
A special bond between Melbourne Storms players Tui Kamikamica and Justin Olam: “Since we have been in isolation, I talk with Tui (Kamikamica) the most. We talk every day.” – Justin Olam. “It was funny. My brother Justin Olam was pretty good, bringing me breakfast, lunch and dinner. I couldn’t even walk to the team room.” – Kamikamica on his recent injury spell.
Food for thought
