Loud swearing
The man’s swear could be heard in the neighbourhood as when the power went off just as he was enjoying the first televised rugby league match of 2021 on Saturday. Have mercy, Mister Bekker!
Fiery match
The annual All Stars match between the Indigenous and Maori teams on Saturday looked at times like a real fiery Aust-NZ test match. Spears, boomerangs and clubs strewn everywhere.
Rude Jane
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison was among the first Australians to receive the Covid-19 vaccination in Sydney yesterday. But the historic moment dissolved into giggles when his attempt at a photo op went wrong. He urged Jane Milysiak of Marayong, the first to receive the jab, to put up a V-sign for the cameras. He quickly pulled her hand down when she inadvertently made a rude sign at the cameras. Oops.
Food for thought
No one is going to stand up at your funeral and say: “She had a really expensive couch and great shoes.” Don’t make life about stuff!
Top quote
“I don’t know about what is being said. I do have my regular tests and so far I am not positive with Covid-19. However if I was positive in my tests, I will advise the country.” – PM James Marape
