Column 1

State of Origin
SOO3 was five sleeps ago but Master Five, who leans towards the Maroons, is still rubbing it in with Mum, a Blues for-life fan, about the result. Well a win is a win!
On fire
Justin Olam was on fire for the Storm on Saturday smashing Newcastle 48-4 at Cbus Super Stadium – the 12th team in history to record 14 consecutive victories. If only we can have more like him donning the Kumul jumper at the next World Cup. Wish and hope.
Like wildfire
One of our Pacific island nations is right now witnessing the Covid-19 Delta variant spreading like wildfire since the first case was detected three months ago. From below 50, it is now more than 1000 cases a day. And the nation’s population is 10 times smaller than PNG. Just saying!
Hot cocktail
Taxi driver gave his passenger ingredients of a fruit/vegetable cocktail he used to cure what he said was a variant of the Covid-19. It included chilli pepper.
Lost and found

It has been more than a month but the owner of the bag found by officer Belden Robert at the Waigani police station car park on June 6 has finally come forward to claim it. Teacher Luke Warwanuk of the Ponini Vocational School in Kimbe WNB asked Robert to pass it on to his relative police sergeant Joseph Igidu. Both thanked Column One for running a piece on the bag last month.
Thought for today
Kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see. Do it others.
