Talent galore
More than 50 star NRL players are eligible to play for Samoa in the World Cup in October such as Josh Papalii, Junior Paulo, Jarome Luai and Brian To’o. So much talent to pick from. New Zealand and Australia are not going.
Far behind
Of the eight million-plus people in PNG, less than 80,000 (.0001 per cent) have been vaccinated as of Monday this week. Says a lot about us, don’t you think?
Mask trigger
Colleague noticed as soon as he entered a bus yesterday wearing a mask how some passengers suddenly reached into their pockets and bags to bring out theirs. Maybe they had been waiting for him.
No masks
The bus with brightly-coloured and boldly-printed Covid-19 safety rule ads on the sides had no one inside – passengers and driver – wearing masks. Oh the irony.
Too scared
We all have people we know who cannot stand watching top games live on television and would rather stay outside, and calling us every now for updates.
Food for thought
One of the best things in life is to befriend someone who knows all your flaws, mistakes and weaknesses, and still thinks you are an amazing person.
Top quote
“Collecting untrustworthy information on the internet and social media and disseminating such misleading information has jeopardised efforts to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. As educated elites, we have to understand information relating to the Covid-19 from reliable sources. Do not mislead others.” – Western Highlands health official Freda Pyanyo.

Correction: 80,000 is 1 percent of 8 million. (0.0001 percent of 8 million would be only 8).
