Public holiday
The public holiday tomorrow is meant to be a day of prayer, of repentance, of spiritual renewal. How many of us will observe it as such remains to be seen. Don’t laugh.
Record on line
If the Melbourne Storm beat the Eels on Saturday, they will set a new NRL record of 20 consecutive wins. But some have not forgotten how the Eels beat the Storm at Bankwest Stadium in Round Two.
Fat cats
The fat cats are getting more plump as the Waigani swamp gets wider and inundated with debris. The swamp badly needs draining. God bless our nation.
Go home
Taxi driver nonchalantly told expat passenger that working in PNG for more than 10 years is “too long”. He stopped short of saying “go home”.
My thought
If you do not want to be vaccinated, I respect your choice. I am vaccinated, so respect my choice. I got vaccinated, not to please anyone else. I don’t know what’s in the vaccine but I trust it just like treatments for other diseases such as cancer. I also have been vaccinated for mumps, measles, rubella, polio, chicken pox and yellow fever. My parents and I trust the science – as always.
Social media
Sit back for a few minutes and work out how much of your day you spend on social media. You will be surprised how much of other things, including money, you had to sacrifice. You poor thing!
Top quote
“We are facing so many problems: Covid-19, corruption, crime, family violence, ethnic conflicts, etc. If we do our part by repenting, turning from our wicked ways, seek his presence and humble ourselves, then God will forgive our sins and heal our land.” – Rev Joseph Walters (Body of Christ).
