PNG is way behind the rest of the world as regards the Covid-19 vaccination. We have just gone past the 2 per cent (assuming the population is still 8 million). We have to, like most nations, vaccinate at least 60 pc to be in the “safe” zone. It’s a long way off but we can do it. In fact, we have to do it for our health, the economy and national development.
We noticed in the past week or so a number of (hesitant) State ministers, senior civil servants and medical workers finally coming forward to get vaccinated. Still, better late than never.
Local woman was on her way to get vaccinated when the taxi driver told her she should not take the 5G vaccine. Confused, she returned home. She was told later that 5G has nothing to do with the vaccine. Such misinformation!
After three years, the Government is still looking for the 102 vehicles missing after they were used during Apec 2018. Land of the unexpected indeed.
Thought for today
The secret of being happy is accepting where you are in life and making the most out of every day.
“The letter I had written (through which I have been) accused of many things including conspiracy and misappropriation, when all I wanted to do was try to provide cheap and reliable power to our people.” – Former Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.
