What a scam
As if worrying about the rapid spread of the Covid-19 Delta variant is not enough, health authorities now have to deal with the culprits selling blank green cards (used to confirm one’s vaccination) to those yet to be vaccinated. So ludicrous, preposterous.
No care
And we continue to wonder how the Covid-19 is spreading like wildfire across the country when some people just do not bother to mask up especially in crowded situations. Someone suggested public caning by police to drum some sense into these people. We’ll see.
Shut up
Blabbermouths are those who talk excessively or indiscreetly. So many around. You know a friend or workmate who falls in this category, right? Yes. They can be so irritating at times.
Taxi meters
You may have no say on the fare a taxi driver charges you because there is no regulation on taxi meters which sit idly on the dashboards. When will we start using those taxi meters?
Virtual is cheaper
One big lesson the Covid-19 pandemic has taught is, in this age of technology, when many of the things can done “virtual”, leaders do not have to travel overseas for meetings, such as the climate change one in Glasgow next week.
Large group
One of the Pacific island nations is sending a 36-member team to the Cop26 in Glasgow, Scotland – almost half of them women. Really? Must be a sightseeing tour.
Food for thought
There is a simple rule in life: “If you would not like it done to you, do not do it to others.”
Top quote
“To those who are reselling the green cards when it is free when you receive a vaccine, you are playing with the lives of those who buy the card. To those who received the card in the black-market deal, know that you are putting yourself in danger of being infected with the Covid-19.” – National Pandemic Response Controller David Manning.
