It is traditional that we are showered with gifts on our birthdays – and on Christmas, even though it is not our birthday. The one whose birthday it is received birthday gifts only once in his life – when he was born in the manger. Shepherds gave him gold, frankincence and myrrh. That was it.
Please spare a little of what you will be enjoying this long Christmas weekend with someone less fortunate than you – an individual, a family, a widow, an old couple. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
The moment you realise 2022 is also pronounced 2020 too!
Miss Six insists that she sleeps in the seating room until Christmas morning. Why? To guard the gifts under the Christmas tree until they are opened.
Thought for today
From a reader: I would rather do community work than send Xmas messages to some people!
“Do not to be deceived by tinsel, presents and too much good cheer. Instead, focus on the family and the simple but most meaningful moments in life. Spend time with the children, pray for those less fortunate.” – Former PM Peter O’Neill.
