CHILDREN will only eat unhealthy foods in school if they’re eating it at home. If parents give their children healthy food, it’s more likely they will eat well in school. This is a different story in schools. What is being found in schools is that children quite like the junk food because they have been eating junk from home.

IF we’re teaching our children’s brain that junk food or unhealthy diet is good for their diet, they carry
that mentality to school. Parents have been encouraged to find fun and interactive ways to introduce healthy eating habits for children. Healthy eating can be promoted by offering a variety of foods to children from a very young age. The Health department should move towards wellness and targeting homes and families on the importance of having a healthy diet.

THE World Health Organization (WHO) is recommending that people aim to get no more than five percent of their daily caloric intake from sugar, half the long-standing recommendation of 10 percent. For an adult with a normal body mass index, or BMI, this new recommendation translates to about six teaspoons’ worth of sugar a day. Excess sugar consumption can lead to weight gain and associated health risks, such as heart disease, diabetes, and even certain cancers, as well as dental damage.

A WEDDING dress is the traditional article of clothing worn by a bride during the marriage ceremony. The colour, style, and ceremonial importance of the gown vary in accordance with the religious and cultural traditions of the wedding participants. In Western countries, brides traditionally wear ornate white gowns symbolizing purity. China’s brides generally wear red, a colour of good luck.

NELSON Mandela served as the first democratically elected President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. His political activism began after 1948 with an initial commitment to non-violent mass struggle. Later, his anti-apartheid activities led to his imprisonment for nearly 30 years. Released in 1990, he was elected president of the African National Congress and represented it in the turbulent negotiations that led to the establishment of majority rule.
