Money talk
Tongans Tupou and Staggs have opted to play next week for the NSW Blues in SOO Two, where they will get paid $15,000, rather than their country Tonga, against the Kiwis, and paid only $2000. Money talks indeed.
Lop-sided affair
There are 15 NRL players in the Fiji Bati side but only five in the PNG Kumul for a Pacific test match next Saturday. A bit lop-sided, don’t you think? We must get more players into the NRL.
Highly rated
Fiji Bati forward Tui Kamikamica, who will be playing against his Melbourne Storm team mate Justin Olam in a Pacific match next week, rates the Kumuls highly, even though there are only five NRL players in it. We’ll see.
Irritating phones
How irritating it is to hear a phone ringing in the middle of a sermon in church, or a case in court. Turn off your phones – for heaven’s sake!
Thought for today
Walk away from: People who put you down; fights that will never be resolved; trying to please people who will never appreciate your worth. The more you walk away from things that poison your soul, the healthier you will become.
Top quote
“PNG used to own only 5 per cent (of the Porgera mine). Now we own 51 per cent. And I thank Barrick for their understanding, that’s it’s time to take back what is ours.” – Prime Minister James Marape.
