PM’s post
At least six people are vying for the position of PM in the 11th Parliament. As yet, no one is vying for the position of alternative PM right now. Maybe later.
Quiet Saturday
We are all looking forward to a quiet Saturday as all election campaigns end on midnight Friday. So says the Electoral Commissioner. Let’s hope so.
Three days left
The 3600-plus candidates vying for the 118 seats have three more days to convince their voters why they should be their MP. Only 118 will win, and 3,500 will lose.
Burnt vehicles
Burnt vehicles in Finschhafen after a clash between supporters of two candidates. They vented their anger on the vehicles instead.
Fittler’s right
So Brad Fittler was right to change his NSW Blues line-up which critics including some Queenslanders including Gorden Tallis said was “suicide”. He also certainly out-thought his Maroons counterparts Billy Slater, Cameron Smith and Jonathan Thurston.
Sad sight
Two groups of school boys were having a free-for-all on the roadside outside the police barracks and opposite a secondary school in Gordon around 1.30pm yesterday. Motorists had to stop as some were running across the road. Sad to watch.
Double-edged
Opposites have the same number of letters: Love and hate, friends and enemies, lying and truth, negative and positive, under and above, cry and joy, right and wrong, hurt and heal. Life is a double-edged sword.
Thought for today
We tend to forget that happiness does not come as a result of getting something we do not have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.
Top quote
“The time in the play-the-ball were a lot more similar. I thought they (Maroons) pushed the ref (in Game One) and he allowed it. But on our side it was more our effort so it was a criticism of us more so than anyone else.” – NSW Blues coach Brad Fittler.
