PNG ambassador
Reigning Pacific Queen Leoshina Kariha in her farewell speech as Miss PNG spoke about the experiences she gained during her one year reign. In her speech she did not identify herself as a woman from Buka or Central. She simply referred to herself as a proud Papua New Guinea woman. A timely message as we head into our Independence Day this month.
Independence fever
Shops are already into the Independence mood with PNG colour merchandise on sale. Shortly, the Christmas lights will be out and carols will be ringing in our ears. We might also see Santa make an early appearance. Especially in the nation’s capital with the chilly weather.

Well, the bridesmaid turned up to the wedding in an enormous, inflatable Tyrannosaurus rex (T-rex) costume.
