Olam down
Local rugby league star Justin Olam is down with the Covid-19 and will not play for his Melbourne Storm team against the Titans this weekend. Just shows that this virus does not discriminate. It can strike anyone. So mask up folks. We are not out of the woods yet.
Peanut menu
By the way, it is not true, at least it has not been medically proven, that eating lots of peanuts can prevent one from contracting the new health threat – monkeypox.
Market drama
Police were called to stop a brawl at the Gordon market on Wednesday morning after someone tried to pick a mobile phone off a lady shopper. Bystanders attacked the thief and his gang and recovered the lady’s phone. Chivalry is not dead, folks.
An eyesore
This signboard outside the Gordon Police Station in Port Moresby was defaced more than a year. No one has bothered to clean it up or remove it altogether. There’s a bigger, cleaner, higher and newer board nearby carrying the same message.
Food for thought
When we continue repeating the same mistake, it is no longer a mistake. It becomes a habit, a toxic lifestyle.
Top quote
“While our people suffer, we divide ourselves into coastal and highlands groupings. This is shameful after 47 years of independence. These divisions go against the very basis of nationhood.” – Opposition Leader Belden Namah.
