Broncos happy
BRONCOS fans are happy that the Parramatta Eels, who had thrashed them 58-0 the previous Saturday, were defeated 32-0 by the Melbourne Storm last weekend. There is still a deficit of 26 but it matters little.
Mates forever
WHEN the NRL semifinal game ended, Melbourne Storm players Suli Vunivalu and Tui Kamikamica had their arms over the shoulders of Parramatta Eels winger Maika Sivo as if to tell him “we are still friends”. The three Fijians play together for the Bati.
Heart-warming
IT’S always heart-warming to see a player from the winning team down on his knees consoling a player from the losing side whose bowed head can only tell of the ache he is going through. On Saturday in Japan for example, All Blacks flanker Ardie Savea knelt on the ground beside Springboks winger Cheslin Kolbe after the final whistle. They said a prayer, stood up, shook hands, and left in opposite directions to join their team mates.
Wrong guy
A GROUP of guys surrounded a man on Waigani Drive in Port Moresby on Saturday and whispered in his ear that there is a laptop of an expensive brand they are selling at a very cheap price. They explained that they needed money for fuel. Fuel for what? Sorry not interested.
Steer clear
BE wary of a neatly-dressed man who hangs around the foot of the escalators at Vision City outside the pharmacy who will greet you with the widest smile as if you have known each other for ages. Before you know, he is already asking you for his bus fare home. How he dresses can be deceiving.
