Life’s problems
Someone compared problems to washing machines which twist, spin and knock us around. But in the end we come out cleaner brighter and better than before. Well in most cases, that is.
For the record
The Canberra Raiders have won the NRL premiership only three times – 1989, 1990 and 1994. They were runners-up in 1987 and 1991. The defending champions Sydney Roosters have won it 14 times and runners-up 15 times. What a fairytale if Ricky Stuart’s charge win. But see you Sunday at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
Wasted sunshine
Many countries around the world would love to have at least half of the sunshine hours PNG enjoys because of the opportunity to use solar power which is a cheap and safe energy source. Not to forget that tourists love to bathe in the sunshine all day long. Oh such luxury we take for granted.
Check properly
Man was prescribed the right medicine by the doctor but was supplied the wrong one at the pharmacy. He found later – to the detriment of his health. Lesson: Check what you are given over the counter against what the doctor had ordered.
Lost in translation
A music fan tried to translate his favourite hit into English. He ended up with the lyrics: “Sister Heart, Oh! Oh! Oh! Scraper to follow the footsteps of that man and now you get the accident.”
Food please
Colleague on a business trip overseas sent pictures of his hotel room to his younger brother. The only response he received was: “Where’s the food?”
