Wrong title
A man appearing in court for the first time in Waigani yesterday was briefed by the prosecutor that when addressing the magistrate, he must say “Your Worship.” When his case was called, the magistrate read out to him the charge and asked him whether he understood. He blurted out: “Yes, Your Majesty”.
Second trial
A man charged with assaulting his wife came out of court and saw his in-laws waiting there for him. They told him in no uncertain terms what they thought of such cowardly and unmanly act: “U mahn nau ah, sa paitim meri”.
Market opening
Not much hype so far we hear of the “grand opening” of the K14 million NZ-funded new market at Gordon in Port Moresby on Thursday. Maybe the delay has dulled the enthusiasm and high expectation.
