Better view
A team of police officers assigned to provide security during the Lions-Kumuls rugby league match at the National Football Stadium on Saturday in Port Moresby are “jostling” for a places. You see, not all will stationed inside the stadium. Only those inside can watch. Those outside can only listen.
Small town
The small Boroko business center in Port Moresby will come alive on Saturday when it is inundated by thousands of rugby league fans coming to watch the Lions-Kumuls test match. Boroko was in the news last week for a much different reason – its “red light” label. So much there to enjoy.
Being a kid
Some parents take offence when their child is referred to as a kid, which is also the name given to a baby goat. Goat by the way is the acronym given to sports superstars such as Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan (greatest of all time).
Slow bank
Colleague has been trying to send money home in the past two weeks but has been waiting for his bank to complete the processing of internet banking. He was starting to believe that the advent of technology was going to make his life simpler. Not.
Field day
Colleague who loves to get up close with beauty queens is eagerly looking forward to the Miss Pacific Islands pageant in Port Moresby this month. He is expecting a “field day”.
Pulled over
Man was pulled over by the police while on his way to work early in the morning for speeding. “I’ve been waiting all day for you,” says officer. He replies: “Yes officer, I got here as fast as I could.” No ticket. He was let off with just a warning.
Age difference
When we were young, we sneak out of our house to parties. When we are old, we sneak out of parties to go home.
