READ on to really appreciate that Papua New Guinea is blessed. The United Arab Emirates is considering an ambitious project to build a mountain that would help boost rainfall in the arid nation.

Arabian Business reports that scientists are studying the feasibility of creating a man-made mountain. Experts from the US based University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) and National Centre for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) are undertaking a ‘detailed modelling study’ of the project, according to NCAR scientist Roelof Bruintjes, lead researches on the project.

CHINA on the other hand used cloud seeding in attempt to clear the skies and improve air quality for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

MAYBE PNG should try cloud seeding during dry seasons. At times you see hear clouds hanging over, the place gets humid but no rain falls. Over to you the experts!

WE wonder why there is lack of data to plan for rains and floods.  The country had hydrological systems for monitoring rainfall and river levels in all provinces back in the 80s but this came to a halt in 1995 when the government withdrew funding.

AYAHUASCA, or “vine of the soul,” is a South American hallucinogenic brew made from the bark and stems of a tropical vine, generally Banisteriopsis caapi, mixed with other psychotropic plants.
