TEACHERS have been urged to write to the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) to express their concern about their salary and 10% increment.
This came from TSC chairman Baran Sori yesterday.
He said they had not received any complaints from teachers regarding pay but agreed that a pay-rise had been implemented since January.
Some teachers have received the new salary and others have not.
The increment was to be paid this year but some teachers have not received this either.
Sori said teachers had the right to express their views and communicate with the commission.
“We are here for them; they are welcome to come to us and express their views as it is our role to explain to them.
“We will give them the right answer.”
Sori said that was the normal procedure to follow as  their written complaints would be investigated by TSC.
He said teachers should be paid their full agreed pay but teachers too should show commitment to their job.
He said teachers pay would be correct if the amount shown on the pay slip was equal to the salary paid but if that did not equate, then something was wrong.
Sori said that was why teachers needed their pay slips but a few teachers did not receive their slips because they were issued by the Finance Department.

“Because of the cost of printing those pay slips, some teachers have been asked to pay,’ he said.
