Commission challenged

TEACHING Service Commission (TSC) of the Education Department is failing this nation by not employing appropriate qualified persons in the government educational institutions either as educators or trainers in some respects.
How on earth people with certificates and diplomas are still employed by TSC.
Is it that TSC is looking at the Teaching Diploma or the Teaching Bachelor that are obtained to deliver in the skills areas, overlooking the actual content delivery done at the institutions?
Does the TSC thoroughly screen the qualifications of teachers before authorising teachers to be put on the Education Salaries Payroll?
There are some teachers in the government educational institutions, mostly in the colleges are found to have a content certificate or diploma in the subjects they are delivering at this time when things are already changing for someone with a content Bachelor Degree to occupy the post.
By now TSC should be doing something concrete to move teachers out of the payroll with shallow qualifications regardless of being in the system for quite long. It is not helping this country as far as education at that level is concern.
It is a laughing stock to this country to continue maintaining under-qualified personnel on certain jobs that require degree holders to occupy at this time and age where the world is changing rapidly in thinking and skills.
There are a lot of first content degree holders are around in this country to be considered for employment given that the job description requirements are met.
The way it is now, those with content diplomas and certificates should now be looking their way around to upgrading their qualifications to a content degree level if their services are to be continued for the betterment of this country.
If officers with lower qualifications are not adhering to changes by upgrading their qualifications as required at that level of engagement, then let them go because they do not want change.
At this time, some teachers with low qualifications are renumerated more compared to officers who are more qualified in content.
The system of remunerations by TSC in this country is not motivating and justifiable in some respects where it deems justification to be validated with teachers’ salaries scale disparities.
It is a slap to more qualified personnel being paid low compared to under-qualified personnel who are renumerated bit more delivering at the same level with this sort of engagements.
It is time TSC with colleges or schools managements to do the right thing to help both the Government and the Teachers to improve on the grave concern areas as mentioned.
