THE National Capital education services has farewelled a technical, vocational education and training (Tvet) centre manager whom they described as “high performing”.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony of Ronaldo Diaz at Mino Heduru vocational school on Wednesday, assistant secretary of the National Capital education services Sam Lora said: “Diaz had changed the face of Mino Heduru in a period of 1 year and seven months.”
Diaz, from Philippines, spent 17 years in PNG.
He arrived in 2002 as a Catholic missionary with the order of Don Bosco.
He served in West Sepik, Enga and NCD – teaching technical courses and managing Tvet centres.
The ceremony included the opening of a 30m road from the school gate to the administration building, an extended computer lab, an extended carpentry workshop and an extended motor mechanic workshop.
Lora said all these projects were completed under the leadership of Diaz.
“The projects opened today is a testament to Diaz’s push for quality,” Lora said.
“He has left a big challenge for us.
“We must learn and continue from where he has left off.”
Diaz thanked the staff and students for their support. “To my students, I want to implore you to always see yourselves as good ambassadors of this school and never allow selfish interests to damage the integrity you have nurtured.”
