THE Accident Investigation Commission (AIC) has announced an investigation into a serious incident involving a Dahor Kodiak 100 aircraft that sustained structural damage flight to it while routing to Hoskins Airport in West New Britain.
PNG AIC head Aira Bouraga said the commission was notified last month by operators New Tribes Mission.
The aircraft reportedly had its left upper wing root fairing dislodged in-flight and subsequently struck the leading edge of the horizontal tail assembly on April 27.
The aircraft was conducting a positioning flight from Lele Airstrip to Hoskins Airport when the incident occurred.
