THE National Procurement Commission will take charge of the tender process for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation assets’ disposal, says Finance Secretary Dr Ken Ngangan, pictured,
The commission, former known as the Central Supplies and Tenders Board, is headed by Ngangan.
The tender process is now open and those tendering have to pay a non-refundable fee of K1000.
Inspection dates are Feb 25 and 26 at the T-Wharf in downtown. The closing date is March 4.
Only registered bidders will be allowed in for inspection.
“The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Authority ran the programme and acquisition and disposal of assets are the responsibility of Department of Finance and the Central Supplies and Tenders Board,” Dr Ngangan said.
He said the process of taking ownership of those state assets and disposal started on Friday.
The committee through the National Procurement Commission board will deliberate on the bid and once awards were made, successful bidders would pay for the vehicles.
“Once the bidders pay, the vehicle would be registered under the buyers’ names and driven out of the shed,” he said.
“Anyone interested in the Maserati and Bentley can pay their bid fee and allowed to inspect the vehicles.”
Finance Minister James Marape said the Ombudsman Commission had given its clearance for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation assets to be disposed of through the tender process.
