THREE key senior positions in Bougainville are to be made by the senior appointments committee, Bougainville acting chief secretary, Paul Kebori says.
Kebori, told The National that the positions that were to be forwarded to the appointments committee by human resource firm, Air Swift were important as Bougainville prepared for its referendum of June 15, 2019.
The positions are the chief Secretary, Bougainville Electoral Commissioner and the Bougainville Clerk of Parliament.
The appointments would be for five years.
Kebori said with the current recruitment drive for the public service in the region, six departmental heads were also appointed while the other seven positions were also re-advertised. The Bougainville Public Service aims to ensure all positions are fully occupied before the referendum.
The Autonomous Bougainville Government has in all 15 departments whose positions wer recently advertised as part of the recruitment exercise.
Since autonomy in 2005, the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) has been working to move the region forward and a major step forward with the initiation of the local public service.
