A RESOURCE owners association of the Binandere, Davari and Evage communities of Oro and Morobe provinces, has been formed to promote its interests in any development of oil and gas.
The association, Bidae- an acronym for the communities – is seeking to work with exploration companies and the Government.
Exploration work has been carried out in the area known as PPL 186 Kumusi to Eya and
PPL 187 Kumusi to Buna.
The two exploration areas were combined as PPL 257 which, the association said was now being explored by the Canadian-based Eaglewood Energy.
Bidae Association Land Group Inc, incorporated and registered with IPA in 2005, is now urging the company and the Government to deal on round table regarding gas, oil and mining activities.
Association chairman James Enonga said he went to Port Moresby and Popondetta to present landowners documents for deliberation.
The association presented its road map to Lae-based Oro elites including Huon Gulf district administrator Tony Ase and Morobe LLG president Michael Gapeon Monday.
Mr Ase commended Bidae for the team work but appealed for collective effort to ensure all Oro elites foster good working relationship to make it happen for the rural majority.
