RIGO MP Lekwa Gure was welcomed by the Riwali community to open a double classroom and a teacher’s house.
The community, both young and old, dressed in their traditional attire and joined the Bina Primary School.
Gure said the project was completed on time, done according to the design specifications and within the budget allocation.
He said building school infrastructure was part of his district’s five-year development plans but urged the teachers and the students’ families to be part and puzzle of the children educations.
“In terms of education last year and this year we have provided tertiary student fees assistance to contribute to the human resource development,” he said.
“In this concept our provincial government have provided K2,000 per tertiary student and the district provides K1,000 which totalled to K3,000 for reimbursement to parents if parents pay for their children’s’ tuition fee and provide receipts.”
Gure said the province and the district was contributing 50 per cent of the fees because most collage and universities fees were K6,000 to K7,000.
