Companies give clothes to village children in Markham

THE Don Kyatt Spare Parts and Terrain Tamer have made a donation of children’s clothing to a village in Markham, Morobe, last week.
The Australian company, which has a warehouse in Port Moresby and has also recently opened in Lae, collected around 100 items of clothing from staff members in Australia, to donate to the village.
Local and Australian staff met the villagers and children.
Company representative Chris Waters said the lack of commercial crops in the area was one of the reasons they had chosen the village.
“There isn’t a lot of money to buy clothing for the children, and they’re about two hours from Lae.
“So transportation is expensive” he said. “The clothing was gratefully accepted and put a smile on many faces.”
