COCA Cola Amatil (PNG) Ltd is investing in its employees by building their capabilities, general manager Philippe Mondada says.
“It is more than creating jobs,” Mondada said.
“It is about building capabilities.”
They have the graduate development programme (GDP) and the academy.
“We believe as a multinational company in this country, it is part of our responsibility to build capabilities, to train and teach young people coming out of universities and making them better professionals,” Mondada said.
“The Government is happy about the fact that we are here and generating employment.”
Mondada said at the academy, “we teach our current employees”.
“We have a sales academy, supply chain academy, which we started last year.”
The staff are taught sales, marketing and the latest technology.
“We teach them the latest development in terms of sales, supply chain and how to work with the latest technology,” he said.
“We invested in the past 18 months in lines.
“But in order to operate those lines you have to learn.
“The academy is about learning how to operate that line.
“The idea is to teach them all the jobs related to production lines so they can work in different positions.”
