LAE Biscuit company donated 604 cartons of its Snax biscuits to Buimo prison and Angau Memorial General Hospital last Thursday as part of its community obligation.
Six Lae Snax Tigers players – Ezekiel Yaru, Elizah Peter, Joseph Konz, McQuinn Gabriel, Nathan Millie and Robert Vuia – acting as Snax brand ambassadors, assisted in the donation.
Company representative Winifred Worealevi said the donations were part of the Covid-19 support to the community with 500 cartons to Buimo prison and 104 to Angau.
“Lae Biscuit company is always giving and helping, especially in this time of the Covid-19, it is good to give,” she said.
“Even though the economy is not good for companies, they are struggling, those in the community are struggling and their struggles are more real than big companies and in a small way we are helping, especially the people in the community who need help most.”
Buimo jail commander Supt Judy Tara thanked the company for its support to the prison.
She said even though businesses were struggling, the biscuit maker was always willing to give to the community.
A representative of Angau, on behalf of the chief executive officer Dr Kipas Binga, also shared the same sentiment.
