A company has donated disinfectants and hand sanitisers worth around K15,000 to the Port Moresby General Hospital.
Sesago Health Care Ltd sales and marketing manager Pradeep Panda said the donation included 1,000 disinfectant sprays, 500 hand sanitisers and 300 alcohol wipes. “Hygiene, safe water and sanitisers are important in any pandemic outbreak,” he said.
He said doctors, nurses and pharmacists were at the forefront of tackling the pandemic.
Hospital chief executive officer Dr Paki Molumi said the disinfectants and sanitisers would be distributed to hospital workers and patients.
The hospital has stepped up its infection control measures.
“It is mandatory for all staffs, patients and anyone in the hospital premises to wear face masks and carry hand sanitisers,” he said.
