HIDES Alliance Group, a joint venture company of Hides Gas Development Company Ltd and The Alliance Group, has announced a partnership with Tari Secondary School by committing to employ five students under the company’s apprenticeship programme next year.
The five students will undergo an intensive training programme starting at The Alliance Group’s Lihir Gold mine operations.
The students’ names will be announced after their final examinations.
Hides Gas Development Company Ltd chairman and Hides Alliance Group director Tuguyawini Libe Parindali announced that HAG would support the home economics department of the school with kitchen equipment and utensils worth K20,000.
The announcement was one of six other sponsorships made by HGDC and its subsidiary companies HAG, Hides Security Services Ltd and C&H Laitepo Engineering Ltd.
These commitments were made at the school’s 40th Grade 10 graduation and its 11th Grade 12 graduation ceremony last week.
All these companies are providing camp and catering, security and engineering, transportation and logistics services to the upstream section EPC contractors of the PNG LNG project.
The HGDC Grade 12 Dux awards were presented to Rachael Henry for social science while Howard Eric got the top award in science.
Both were presented with laptop and K200.
The Hides Security Services Ltd Leadership Awards were presented to Anna Hawa and TambaliIgibe.
They received K1,000 each from the company and both have the opportunity of joining the company if they do not go for further studies.
