TICKETS for Sunday’s Digicel Cup grand final clash between Hela Wigmen and Lae Tigers at Sir John Guise Stadium are expected to be sold out before the 3pm kick-off, says an official.
Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition (PNGNRLC) manager Stanley Hondina said more than 13,000 tickets had gone on sale as of yesterday evening. The ticket prices are K15 (north and south stands), K20 (eastern stand), K30 (wings), K50 (grand stand), K300 (lounge) and K8,000 (corporate boxes).
“Tickets will sell fast so fans who want to watch the game should buy tickets early,” Hondina said.
“It will be entertaining.
“There will also be surprises.
“Fans will have to be there to find out.
“It’s the final game of the season and we want families, including women and children, to come and enjoy the day.”
Hondina said the safety of fans was PNGNRLC’s top priority.
“Fans are important partners of the game and their safety is paramount to us,” he said.
“We want to make sure that they enjoy the final game of the season.
“Due to Covid-19, we’ve had some games without fans and it was unusual.
“Some players have also shared their experiences of playing in empty stadiums.”
