Complying with regulatory framework key to survival: Firm

WORKING within the compliance of Papua New Guinea’s regulatory frameworks is key for Ramu NiCo’s survival, according to the company.
This was highlighted among other things at the company’s annual working conference on Friday.
The conference was attended by senior management teams from Kurumbukari mine and Basamuk processing plant, Madang operations base and, Beijing, via video conferencing.
Basamuk refinery operations manager Bill Hill highlighted the processing site’s priorities for this year.
He said those included: maintaining safe, cost effective and quality driven production; maintaining a commitment to health and safety, and process safety; health monitoring of employees and contractors and workplaces; complying with environmental management guidelines; providing an opportunity for training and skills development of workers and social responsibility.
“We all have individual and team roles to play in 2022,” Hill said.
