PORT Moresby Catholic church archdiocese, Family Life Apostolic office, has received a new computer and printer set donated by the Community Development Department.
Family Life coordinator Lucy Lavu said the presentation, which cost about K5,000, was the first assistance the office ever received from Government.
She said since its establishment as an institution under the Catholic Diocese in 1986, the office had been doing advocacy on human rights and was also involve in counselling services for marriage and also issues on women and girls.
”This donation will go a long way in reaching out to the communities with our counseling services and will make our operations more effective,” Mrs Lavu said.
DFCD head of human rights desk David Hesaboda, when presenting the computer, said the donation marked the beginning of a partnership between DFCD and the Family Life Apostolic office.
