Concentrate on growth

Letters

THE Morobe government and its people should concentrate on growth and investment in order to develop the province.
The Morobe government’s support of K50,000 to the Mumeng District vanilla co-operative society to get an export licence from the PNG Spice board is a welcoming news.
Vanilla and cocoa grow well in Morobe and to have an export licence is a welcoming news for the vanilla growers.
Such a project can bring cash and create employment for the rural people apart from coffee, cocoa, honey and other agriculture produce. Morobe’s nine districts can accommodate the growth of coffee, cocoa and vanilla.
The Morobe government should put more money from its annual budget to build and maintain roads and bridges, airstrips, wharves and jetties to link the nine districts with its provincial headquarters.
I appeal to all Morobeans squatting around Lae city to move back to their villages and work the land instead of roaming around doing nothing.
The provincial government is supporting and promoting conducive environments and opportunities and it’s now up to our people to capture and build on.
