THE Centre of Excellence (COE) programme has paved way for young children in becoming future footballers for the country.

It is a FIFA and OFC programme and PNGFA has been piloting this programme in Port Moresby to develop potential talents with the ability and skills to be football players.

This programme is the next stage of the Just Play Programme and focuses on training players with quality football techniques.

The programme is also developing young players to live a healthy lifestyle in their schools and communities and to build their career in playing football.

Children as young as 13-15 years old meet at the Sir John Guise Stadium every Mondays and Wednesdays with their coaches where they go through drills on shooting, passing using both feet and also dribbling skills. After the drills they take part in small sided games.

The programme will be running for a couple of weeks.
