Concern over Banab Bridge

Letters

WE want our MPs from Sumkar and Bogia to work together and help us, the people from Bogia and as far as north-coast Sumgilbar and Karkar Islander, who use the North Coast Road to Bogia.
Banab Bridge is our only link to Madang town.
It seems it will take at least a year to build a bridge.
There is nothing being done for a temporary crossover bridge.
Locals at the site take advantage to make fast money.
They are charging as much as K20 for goods and cash crops, and K2 to K5 for each person crossing over.
Stealing and other crimes are rising every day.
Please set up a temporary depot so copra for cocoa buyers at Madang who come to Kubugam
Jetty.
We demand that police and our leaders stop the illegal charging of fees and install 24-hour security.
Schools are starting in two to three weeks’ time.
School project fees are 100 per cent higher this year and it will be hard for many parents to support their children.
We want our MPS to work together to sort this out before school starts.
