PEOPLE with disabilities are at a greater risk of contracting Covid-19 because of physical barriers, need for assistance or difficulty in accessing information, according to WHO
“They also risk developing more severe case because Covid-19 exacerbates existing health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and weakened immune system,” it said.
“It is important to support people with disabilities reduce their potential exposure by avoiding crowds, working from home, regularly disinfecting assistive products and ensuring easy access to their urgent items.”
