THIS year’s Institute of Internal Auditors conference will challenge audit professionals to look at how internal auditing can add value to corporate governance, transparency and accountability by changing and shaping an organisation.
With the theme ‘Internal Auditors’ Approach to Corporate Governance,’ the conference to be held in Port Moresby later this month, will feature presentations from various overseas and local speakers.
The range of topics include internal auditing, corporate governance, impacts of the global crisis and achieving corporate strategy through internal auditing.
The institute’s annual conference was boosted by a K15,000 grant from Bank South Pacific (BSP).
BSP’s head of audit Paul Walters said the bank was proud to support a professional body that promoted the essence of auditing and was looking at developing its standards to international level.
