Congratulations Peter Yama

CONGRATULATIONS to Peter Charles Yama and his legal counsel Dr Ben Lomai for winning the legal battle on Aug 6.
It was a landmark decision by the five-men bench of the Supreme Court which ruled four against one in favour of Governor Yama that declared unanimously that: “Peter Charles Yama is the duly elected Governor of Madang Province from this day forth until 2022”.
Let our triumphant victory cry be echoed from the summit of Mt Wilhelm right throughout the length and breadth of our great nation.
This decision sets the pace for imminent amendments to be effected in Electoral Commission laws.
This includes laws concerning candidates implicated for offences to stand for elections as in the case of contestant James Yali for the Madang Regional Seat in the 2017 National Elections.
The time to walk the talk and prove to the people of Madang and PNG.
The time to walk the talk in terms of service delivery and initiating major impact development projects has arrived.
Past governors come and go without much evidences of tangible sustainable development impacts in the province.
And out of our six districts, Madang, is going down the path of self-destruction.
We appeal to you our Governor to change the course of development for Madang and resurrect it to its former glory.
We hope and pray that if past regimes cannot do it then the onus is on ‘the man from the foothills of Mt Wilhelm’ to transform Madang.
Only time will tell.
